Our Vision

Calling all cinephiles! We are launching The Independent, an independent cinema in the heart of Huntsville, Alabama, dedicated to screening indie films, public domain classics, and cult favorites. We'll also host interactive events like midnight double features, film festivals, and more. This cinema is more than just a place to watch movies--it's a community hub for film lovers, filmmakers, and creatives of all kinds.

Huntsville is growing, and we believe there's a strong community of film lovers who want more than what the multiplex offers. The Independent will be a cultural venue that brings people together through the love of cinema. Whether it's discovering a new indie gem or enjoying a cult classic with friends, our theater will offer experiences you can't get anywhere else in town. 

 

The Independent will be a unique space where Huntsville residents and visitors can experience curated film programs, independent releases, and classic films you can't find in big chain theaters. We'll be hosting special events such as filmmaker Q&As, film competitions, and midnight movie marathons. Plus, our lounge will serve beer, wine, all our favorite theater snacks, and gourmet hot dogs in a perfect setting for hanging out before or after a screening with friends.
